SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
- Surface should be dry, clean, structurally sound, and protected from weather exposure.
- Ensure the substrate is free from dust, loose particles, oil, grease, paint residue, curing compounds, fungus, algae, moss, or any contaminants affecting adhesion.
- Repair cracks, holes, damaged areas, and surface irregularities before plaster application.
- Do not apply plaster on green backgrounds or surfaces with visible free water.
- Sprinkle clean water on the substrate 5–10 minutes before plastering to control suction.
- Smooth or low-suction concrete surfaces may require suitable bonding treatment prior to application.
MIXING:
- HomeSure GypEx GOLD (With Fine Aggregates) is pre-formulated with lightweight aggregates and special additives requiring only clean potable water at site.
- Mixing should be carried out in clean trays, tubs, or mechanical mixers using clean tools and water.
- Avoid excessive mechanical mixing as it may affect plaster performance.
- Water-to-plaster ratio of approximately 1 part water : 1.4 parts plaster by weight.
- Mix thoroughly to obtain a smooth, cohesive, and workable paste.
- Prepare only the quantity that can be used within the workable time.
- Do not add additional water once the plaster begins to set.
APPLICATION:
- Check wall alignment and verticality using suitable levelling tools before plaster application.
- Apply plaster evenly with firm pressure on the prepared substrate.
- Recommended application thickness is 6–15 mm in a single coat on walls and ceilings.
- For thickness beyond the recommended range (25 mm on walls & 20 mm on ceilings), plaster should be applied in two coats.
- Apply additional coats only after proper stiffening of the previous layer.
- As plaster stiffens, carry out levelling and finishing operations to achieve a smooth and uniform surface.
- Allow the finished surface to dry completely before painting or decorative finishes.
- Under normal conditions, drying time is approximately 72 hours depending on thickness and ambient weather conditions.
